CONWAY, NC – Robert Walter Johnson, 87, of Conway passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

A native of Milwaukee, NC, he was born on December 30, 1929 to John B. and Mary W. Johnson and was raised in the Milwaukee area. He had been preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Dunn Johnson, who he married in July of 1957, and his parents, and a sister, Marion Boyce.  He was a longtime employee of Davis and Company in Conway, Fisher Auto, and Woodland Super Market.

His survivors include son, John Robert Johnson and his wife, Jessica Taylor Johnson of Conway; granddaughter, Micaylah Johnson; grandson, Damon Johnson, all of Conway; and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway on Wednesday, September 13.

A funeral service for Mr. Johnson will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Conway United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Hill presiding.  Burial will follow in the Milwaukee Cemetery.
