Alexander M. Parsain

GATES – Alexander Michael “Alex” Parsain, 16, of 474 Paige Riddick Road, Gates, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Gates County as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident.

Born in Suffolk, VA on November 21, 2000, he was the son of Frederick Michael and Angie Williams Parsain of Gates.  A junior at Ahoskie Christian School, he was active with the school’s athletic program, having been a member of the basketball team. Outside of school, he played baseball and was active with area shooting teams. Other enjoyments included the outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman.  He attended Elevate Church in Windsor, VA.

Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Williams, he is survived by his parents; his sister, Ranae Lennon and husband Shawn and their son, Evan; maternal grandmother, Deborah Williams, all of Gates; paternal grandparents, Edward and Diane Parsain of Halifax, VA; and many extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m. in Ahoskie Free Will Baptist Church, and will be officiated by Pastors Bob Deacon and Joe Lassiter.   Friends may join the family in the fellowship hall immediately following the service, and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ahoskie Christian School, 500 Kiwanis Ave., Ahoskie, NC 27910, and designated for use in the Athletic Program.
