QUEENS, NY – Johnny Cortez Chesson entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York.

He was born April 18, 1946 in Sunbury, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Leander Chesson and Katie Wills Chesson. Also, he was preceded in death by his grandson Raborn Donzel Chesson.

He is survived by daughter, Wyomie Gloria Barclift (Toby) of Lewisville, NC; son, Rodney Chesson (Shadette) of Suffolk, VA; sister, Gloria Ballard (Albert) of Gates, NC; and three brothers, David Chesson of Philadelphia, PA, Ernest Chesson (Carolyn) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Calvin Chesson (Gladys) of Queens, NY. He was a proud grandfather of Dominique, Ramika, Rahneisha and Rakeem and great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Amare, Braylen & Curtis, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

At the request of Mr. Chesson, no service will be held. A private cremation was held on August 25, 2017.
