Vivian R. Wheeler

OXFORD, NC – Vivian Payton Rogers Wheeler, 90, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 at her home.

Vivian was a native of Mecklenburg County, Virginia and the daughter of the late Thomas Edward Rogers and Virgie Wilkerson. She was a member of Tabbs Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker, a longtime member of the choir, loved playing the piano and cared deeply for other people. She was active in the community, a Sunday School teacher and a wonderful devoted mother to her three children.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Tabbs Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Stan Jenkins and Rev. Tony Futtrell. Burial will be in Lancaster Memorial Park, 2210 Hwy 561, Louisburg, NC 27549.

Surviving are her husband of sixty-six years, Rev. Lemar Wheeler of the home; a daughter, Sharon W. Daughtridge (Donnie) of Greenville; two sons, Wayne Lemar Wheeler (Gayle), and Neal Thomas Wheeler (Eve), both of Garner; two granddaughters, April Daughtridge (Joshua) and Sarah Wheeler; a grandson, Steven Daughtridge; and a great grandson, Myles Whitfield.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Alma Newton, and Mabel Averette; and brothers, Alvin Rogers and Edward Rogers.
