AHOSKIE, NC – Peggy Willoughby Lewis, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

Mrs. Lewis was born on December 30, 1940 to the late Vernon and Margaret Willoughby. She was married to Thomas Lewis for fifty-seven years. Peggy worked as a CNA for Roanoke Chowan Hospital before she retired. She enjoyed cooking and walking after her retirement. Peggy had a tremendous passion for animals, especially dogs. She loved dogs more than life itself. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt that will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Celeste Lewis Baisey and her husband BB of Winterville, NC; her granddaughter, Taylor Baisey of Winterville, NC; sister, Jean Cooksey of Eure, NC; brother, Jimmy Willoughby and his wife Sue of Citrus Heights, CA; three nieces, Pam Shaffer and her husband Andy of Spencer, WV, Elizabeth Smith, and Barbara Byrd, both of California; two nephews, James Willoughby and William Willoughby, both of California; and great-nephew, Lucas Harrell of Washington DC.

The family will honor Peggy’s wishes of no funeral service.
