AHOSKIE – The Ahoskie Public Library invites the community to visit with Viola Veale as she presents her children’s book titled, “Sunny and Cloudy” at the library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3.
Veale will read her book. After the storytime, she will have books for sell and signing.
Veale, a native of Bertie County, is an artist, a poet, a playwright and an author.
This new book is beautifully illustrated by her son in law, Steven Gray. He is a visual artist, illustrator, cartoonist, sculptor, digital artist and musician born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, NY. This is his first children’s picture book illustration project.
“Sunny and Cloudy” is the story of a little girl, Sussie, who imagines how the weather works. She prefers the sunny days but also understands how important it is for the rain to fall.
Aug. 3 is a special day for Veale as it marks her 73rd birthday.
