AHOSKIE – Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is recruiting for new adult volunteers to join their healthcare team.
“At this time we have a need for volunteers to assist our patient care team to provide excellent patient and family experience,” says Robin Bland, volunteer services coordinator.
“We are currently recruiting new volunteers to continue to improve the services we provide for outpatients, inpatients, and patients in the emergency department,” states Bland.
Dedicated volunteers are needed to work four-hour shifts either during the day, in the evening, or on weekends one or more times per week, as their personal schedules allow.
There is an application process and orientation training. Volunteers also receive other benefits at the hospital including health checks, flu vaccinations and are included in various employee celebrations.
A service award luncheon is held in April each year where volunteers are recognized for the dedicated service they provide to the hospital and the patients and families.
“If you like to work with people and serve others, please consider volunteering at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital,” says Bland. “Statements for education hours can be provided and a minimum of work hours is required to receive volunteer benefits.”
A ‘volunteer education’ luncheon is planned at the hospital to provide information about being a volunteer. If you are interested in attending the luncheon to learn more about volunteering at the hospital, call Robin Bland at 209-3290.
For more information or to receive an application call the Volunteer Office at 209-3290 or go online at vidanthealth.com and look for the ‘Volunteer’ link at the top of the page.
