Post 102 blanks Windsor in Jr. Legion playoff opener

MANTEO – Ahoskie Post 102 beat Windsor Post 37 11-0 in the first round of the Junior American Legion playoffs here Wednesday night.

Ahoskie opens the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the second. Trevor Lee doubles and scores on an Edward Bradley RBI single. Bradley scores on a Trent Hobbs RBI double. Ahoskie leads 2-0 after two innings.

Post 102 scores three runs in the bottom of the third. Trevor Lee steals home, Hunter Mitchell scores on an error and Bradley has a RBI single. Ahoskie leads 5-0 after three innings.

Ahoskie scores six runs in the bottom of the fourth. Ryan Rowe singles, Tyrek Beverly walks and Evan Lassiter reaches first on a fielder’s choice to load the bases. Lee is hit by a pitch for a RBI, scoring pinch runner Alden Lassiter. Ethan Hughson is hit by a pitch for a RBI. Hunter Mitchell has a bases loaded walk for a RBI. Edward Bradley has a sacrifice fly and Parker Bradley and Trent Hobbs have RBI singles. Ahoskie leads 11-0 after four innings.

Windsor does not score in the top of the fifth to end the game.

Hobbs pitches four innings for the win, allowing no runs on two hits. Lee pitches one inning.

Ahoskie has 10 hits. Hobbs has three hits. Edward Bradley has two hits. Parker Bradley, Rowe, Beverly, Lee, and Mitchell have one hit each.

Windsor has two hits, one each by Wood Trowell and Alden Cottle.
