AHOSKIE – Ahoskie Post 102 beat Edenton 9-0 in a junior American Legion game here Tuesday night.

Post 102 opens the scoring with one run in the bottom of the first. Ryan Rowe doubles to left. Pinch runner Keyshawn Lassiter scores on a Evan Lassiter RBI single to right. Ahoskie leads 1-0 after 1 inning.

Ahoskie breaks the game open with five runs in the bottom of the second. Ethan Hughson singles to right and eventually scores on a wild pitch. Jordan Robinson walks, steals second, and scores on a Tyrek Beverly RBI single to center. Rowe then hits a 2 run homer to left. Evan Lassiter singles and later scores the final run of the inning on a wild pitch. The Braves lead 6-0 after 2 innings.

Post 102 scores one run in the bottom of the fourth. Hunter Mitchell singles to left and later scores on an error. Ahoskie leads 7-0 after 4 innings.

The Braves add one run in the bottom of the fifth. Alden Lassiter reaches second on an error and scores on a Beverly RBI single to right. Ahoskie leads 8-0 after 5 innings.

Ahoskie scores its final run in the bottom of the sixth. Evan Lassiter doubles to right and scores on a Steven Futrell RBI single. Ahoskie leads 9-0 after 6 innings.

Trent Munford pitches 5 1/3 innings for the win, allowing no runs on 3 hits and has 10 strikeouts. Trent Hobbs pitches the final 1 2/3 innings.

Ahoskie has 11 hits. Evan Lassiter has 3 hits. Rowe has 2 hits including a 2 run homer. Beverly has 2 hits. Mitchell, Hughson, Spencer Simonowich, and Steven Futrell have 1 hit each.

Ahoskie is 6-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play. Edenton Post 40 falls to 0-5.
