HARRELLSVILLE – Mary Elizabeth Fairless Gillam, age 100, passed away on May 27, 2017 in Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Gillam was born on December 24, 1916 to the late Raleigh and Mary Valentine Fairless, in Harrellsville, NC. She was married to the late Wiley B. Gillam, Jr. and to this marriage was born two children, Wiley, III and Linda. Mrs. Gillam was a homemaker and will always be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family.

Mrs. Gillam is survived by a daughter, Linda Gillam Clark of Kinston, NC; a son, Wiley B. Gillam, III, and his wife, Carolyn of Harrellsville, NC; one granddaughter, Christina Zoltek and husband, Kevin; three grandsons, Braxton Gillam and his wife, Christy, Scott Clark and his wife, Jenny, Bradley Gillam and his wife, Donna; and five great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, from 7:00-8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 am at Harrellsville Cemetery with the Rev. Bebe Briggs officiating.
