SUNBURY – Vernon I. Costen of Sunbury died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at St. John A.M.E. Zion Church, Sunbury. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Stallings Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, is handling the arrangements.
