Health Clinic holds grand re-opening

AHOSKIE – Health screenings, clinic tours, food, and gifts were the main attractions to the Hertford County Public Health Authority’s clinic grand re-opening celebration that took place on Friday, April 28.

The newly renovated facility, located at 828 South Academy Street in Ahoskie, welcomed the community with fresh painted walls, new flooring, bright lights, new furniture and new equipment.

Health Director, Ramona Bowser states, “We are very excited about our newly renovated facility and we want it to be the medical facility that our clients can be proud to come to for their health care needs”.

Community members that attended the celebration were able to receive a number of services such as blood pressure checks, pre diabetes screenings, flu shots, immunizations, car seat checks and healthy eating education. They were also entered into a drawing where two gift baskets full of goodies, including a $100 visa gift card that was given as a token of appreciation.

The Clinic and adjoining Home Health office were affected by Hurricane Matthew in early October of last year that left the facility drowning in flood waters. After about six months of operating from the agency’s mobile medical unit, the clinic is now ready to welcome back the community with a fresh new look.
