COLERAIN – Robert Ross Phelps, 74 of Wakelon Road, Colerain, died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his home.  He was born in Bertie County, May 23, 1943 to the late Joseph Lester and Margaret Todd Phelps and was predeceased by his brother, Ray Phelps.

Ross was a member of Askewville Assembly of God and a retired logger.

Funeral services will be held Sunday February 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Askewville Assembly of God by the Rev. R. O. Denton, Jr.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Mizelle Phelps of the home; daughters, Vonda P. Harden and husband Donald, and Marcie P. Todd and husband Greg, all of Colerain; sisters, Pansy P. White of Ahoskie, and Katheryn Lee of Smithfield, VA; and grandchildren, Alyssa Harden, Fletcher Todd and Grace Todd.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18th from 6-8 p.m. at Askewville Assembly of God and from the home at other times.
