PENDLETON, NC – Sheryl Brown Whitley, age 47, passed away on February 13, 2017 at the Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.

Sheryl was born on September 11, 1969 to Wayne R. and Shirley B. Brown in Ahoskie, NC. She was a member of Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church and was in the first graduating class of Chowan University becoming a four-year school. Upon graduation, Sheryl went to work with mental health for several years before coming back to the family business, Brown’s Mobile Home, to work in the office.

Sheryl dedicated her life to her family, especially her children. She cherished the time at home that she got to spend with her children. Sheryl was a humble, sweet, beautiful person that always put herself last to make sure others were taken care of. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Sheryl was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Along with her parents, Sheryl is survived by her husband, William; daughter, Jordan Brown Whitley; son, Wyatt Raymond Whitley; brother, Kevin Brown; uncle, Will Braddy of Delano, GA; two nieces, Mackenzie and Skylar Brown; and nephew, Garrett Wayne Brown, all of Murfreesboro.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:00 am at Murfreesboro Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, NC, with Dr. Chris White officiating. There will be a private family burial.
