LASKER – Northeast Academy’s girls’ junior varsity squad pulled out a win Friday night, helping the Eagles avoid a sweep at the hands of Terra Ceia Christian School.

Carly Stephenson had 10 points with nine from Savannah Martin and eight more from Olivia Wheeler in the 42-7 win for the young Lady Eagles.  Allie Liverman and Jessie Martin added six, with three for Emalee Jones.   Hensley Jordan had three points to lead TCCS.

The rest of the night was all Terra Ceia as the Knights took the j.v. boys contest and both varsity games.

A 19-point fourth quarter wasn’t enough for the Eagles as they dropped the jayvee boys tilt, 54-43.  J.T. Simmons had 17 points, with 10 for Brandyn Polson.

It was Keirstyn Polson leading the way for the varsity girls with an eight-point night, but Terra Ceia still prevailed 33-23.   Carson Johnson added six and Hailey Jilcott had five with two apiece for Addie Piper and Haven Jilcott.  Catherine Meijer led all scorers with 14 points for Terra Ceia.

No double-figure scoring for the Northeast varsity boys, though Ryan Rowe’s nine points came close.   Still Terra Ceia romped in this game, 97-29.  Cole Rose scored six points, with five each for L.J. Barnes and Dylan Edwards.  Josh Byrd and Justin Jones scored two points apiece to round out the scoring.   Messiah Barnes and Shaiquan Moore had 25 points each to lead the Knights, who won their 20th of the year (20-1) and tenth (10-0) without a loss in Tarheel Independent Conference play.

Northeast played Albemarle in a late game on Monday and tonight close out their regular-season road schedule at Hobgood.  Thursday night will be Senior Night in Lasker when the Eagles welcome Faith Christian in for their home finale.
