AHOSKIE – It’s a new year when people start thinking about making changes to improve their health.

Join Dr. Robert Cooke and Lynn Cooke, FNP, with Vidant Women’s Care – Ahoskie for a ‘Dinner with a Doc’ event from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26 at Ahoskie United Methodist Church.  They will present information they’ve learned about the ‘science behind the food’ we choose to eat.

A team from the Vidant Wellness Center – Ahoskie will be on hand to provide screening for weight, body mass index, and other risk factors for heart disease.

A healthy lifestyle dinner will be served.

Guests will be able to see how we positively and negatively impact our body, health, and well-being with the food choices we make every day, according to Dr. Cooke.

Health screening starts at 5:30 with dinner at 6 pm and presentation by the medical professionals to follow.  This ‘Dinner with a Doc’ is free, but pre-registration is required by calling 1-855-MYVIDANT (1-855-698-4326).

For more general information about this event you may call Robin Bland, marketing specialist in the Office of Community Relations at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital at 209-3290.
