The family of the late, retired Hertford County Sheriff Winfred Hardy Jr. would like to express lots of thanks to Mr. Cal Bryant and the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald, current Hertford County Sheriff Dexter Hayes and the Hertford County Sheriff’s Department, retired Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan, Northampton County Sheriff Jack Smith, The North Carolina Sheriff’s Association, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the North Carolina Wildlife Commission, the Twelve Sportsmen’s Club, Three Rivers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, other County Sheriffs and departmental officials, House of Representatives member Howard Hunter III, United States Congressman G.K. Butterfield, the Town of Ahoskie, the Hertford County Board of Education, Hertford County Public Schools, the Hertford County Board of Commissioners, Rev. James Mercer and the Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church family, Rev. Dr. Jerryl V. Moody and the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family, the New Harrellsville Chapel Missionary Baptist Church family, New Life Ministries Church family, Rev.
