JACKSON – Junior Holly ‘James’ Lassiter, 66, of Jackson and a native of Hertford County, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Junior was born March 7, 1950, to the parentage of the late Hilton and Martha Vinson Lassiter.

Cherishing his memories are his wife, Lillie Mae Lassiter of the home; two sons, Maurice Lassiter, Sr. (Chassie) of Jackson, North Carolina and Kenneth Lassiter (Linda) of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; two stepchildren, Keisha Hill of Petersburg, Virginia and Shawn Hill (Chiffon) of Courtland, Virginia; two grandchildren, Chamaya and Maurice Jr., four step-grandchildren; his siblings, Mildred Faison (Robert) of Jackson, North Carolina, Carolyn James (Edmond) of Seaboard, North Carolina, Kathy Brown of Murfreesboro, North Carolina, Naomi Lassiter of Warner Robins, Georgia, Martha Lassiter of Garysburg, North Carolina, Clora Hinton of Gaston, North Carolina, Hilton Lassiter of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Chris Lassiter (Alice) of Richmond, Virginia, Ben Lassiter of Jackson, North Carolina and Elmer Lassiter of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; two aunts, Essie Vaughan of Murfreesboro, North Carolina, and Emma Clark; and one uncle, John Lassiter, both of Conway, North Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Faison’s Funeral Service, Inc. 301 Park Street, Seaboard, North Carolina is handling arrangements where a viewing will be held 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2016.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, North Carolina with Pastor Timothy Edwards delivering words of comfort. Interment will follow in the Lassiter Family Cemetery in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.
