GRIFTON – Robert Montgomery Dixon Jr., 61, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, November 25, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert was the founder and operator of The Dixon House in Grifton, an assisted living facility. He was also a very talented wood craftsman and could make just about anything that he wanted.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Dixon of the home; one daughter, Carla Gray and husband Mark of Grifton; one sister, Patricia Dixon of Durham; one grandchild, Trevor Gray; one niece, Gabrielle Kaasa and husband Bill Martin; and and one great nephew, Noah Kaasa.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Aulander Cemetery in Aulander, NC.

Visitation was held on Monday evening, November 28, at Farmer Funeral Service in Ayden, NC.
