MANTEO – Ralph Wilson Umphlett Sr., 90, of Manteo died on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his home.

A celebration of life followed by Masonic Rites will be held Saturday, December 3 at 1:00 p.m. in Manteo Baptist Church, officiated by the Revs. Billy Dennis and Ken Simpson.  The family will receive guests following the service in the church family life center.

Surviving Ralph is his wife of 65 years, Margarette Midgett Umphlett; two daughters, Tanya Tillett and husband, Jerry of Manteo, NC, and Diane Jones and husband, Bert of Jacksonville, NC; and one son, Ralph Umphlett, Jr. of Manteo, NC.  Also surviving are four sisters, Lois Lawrence, Marion Spivey, Faye Hoffler and Alta Gray; brother, M.Q. Umphlett; five grandchildren; one great grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Manteo Faith Baptist Church, PO Box 5, Manteo, NC 27954.
