Local podcast targets listeners dealing with life’s obstacles

The women of the Sistanomics Podcast are on a journey to live a life fulfilled.
According to survey data from Edison Research, a growing number of Americans are listening to podcasts on a daily basis. What is a podcast you say? Dictionary.com defines a podcast as a digital audio or video file or recording, usually part of a themed series, that can be downloaded from a website to a computer or media player (i.e. smart phone, ipod, or other mp3 player).

During the initial phases of Tonza Ruffin Buffaloe’s marital separation and return to her home in Bertie County, Assata Buffaloe and Joan Sharpe McCullough embraced her and provided consistent love and support. Sitting around the table these ladies spent many evenings laughing, drinking wine, and having lively discussions about the ups and downs of life.
As bloggers, Joan and Tonza soon realized people were searching for understanding and strength as they dealt with life’s obstacles. What began as a healing process for these two soon inspired others to share their voices. Fortunately, Joan also realized sharing their lively friendship talks via a Podcast was another way to reach and connect with people. As a result, on Oct. 5, the Sistanomics Podcast was born.

Meet the women of Sistanomics:
Assata Buffaloe
The Analyst: Assata is a criminal defense attorney in Eastern North Carolina. She is a meticulous fact-checker, and a legal expert. In addition to her family, her two great loves are the law, and education.
Tonza Ruffin Buffaloe
The Pusher: Tonza is a single mother, daughter, and attorney living in Eastern North Carolina. She is a change agent, who specializes in moving mountains, rather than climbing them.
Joan Sharpe McCullough
The Wizard: Joan is a public educator by day and a digital media entrepreneur by night. She is the producer of the show, and is very passionate about using her voice and life experiences for the good of the world.
