Ella B. Lassiter

EURE – Ella Thomas Bryan Lassiter, 92, formerly of Hill Lane Road, Eure, NC, died Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Spring Arbor of The Outer Banks, Kill Devil Hills.

Mrs. Lassiter was born in the Potecasi community of Northampton County and was the daughter of the late Lokie Latham, Sr. and Rosa Belle Bryan. A retired manager of several local hotel and restaurant businesses, she was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Tinkham Lassiter.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah L. Hurdle and husband Willis of Kill Devil Hills; a son, Don T. Lassiter and wife Fran of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Shelby Bryan of Boykins, VA, Marie Beale of Roanoke, VA, and Betty Martin of Gloucester Point, VA; two brothers, Doug Bryan of Richmond, VA and L.L. Bryan, Jr. of Franklin, VA; two grandsons, Geoff Lassiter and wife Kiera of Winston-Salem, and Donnie Lassiter and husband James of Clarkston, GA; three great-grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Porter, and Wilson; and her special friend and companion, Dr. Kurt Link of Kill Devil Hills.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 17 at 12 noon in the Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery and will be officiated by her pastor, The Rev. Joe McKnight.

Friends may join the family Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, or in the social hall of the church immediately following the service on Thursday.
