Foy R. Taylor

JACKSON – Foy Ricks Taylor, 86, died Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Life Care in Rocky Mount after a lengthy illness.

A native of the Conway area of Northampton County, she had been preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Taylor; son, Michael Taylor; parents, Lloyd Riddick Ricks and Nina Mae Woodard Ricks; and three brothers, Elliott Lee Ricks, Braxton Ricks, and Lawrence Ricks. 

“GIGI”, as she was fondly called, loved her family and dedicated her life to supporting them in their ventures and activities. She enjoyed their gathering in her home and often provided orange slices for all the grandchildren. She loved her church, Zion United Methodist Church, and she loved to “eat out” with her daughter at several of the area restaurants.

Survivors include son, Gregory Ricks Taylor and wife, Judy; daughters, Phyllis Taylor and Nina Taylor, daughter-in-law, Susan Taylor; six grandchildren, Mason, Scott, Evan, Kim, Corey, and Logan; 10 great grandchildren, Jules, Cole, Lena, Jodi, Caleb, Ella, Rhett, Matthew, Anna Grey, and Camden; special brother, Edwin Barnes and wife, Bruce; dear friend, June; and her little buddy, “MAZIE”.

The family sincerely appreciates all the loving care the staff of LifeCare Hospitals of North Carolina in Rocky Mount gave to “Miss Foy” during her stay with them.

A visitation was held Friday, September 30, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway and a memorial service for Mrs. Taylor was held on Saturday, October 1, at 2:00 p.m. in Zion United Methodist Church, Conway, NC with Rev. Susan Harrison presiding.
