SALISBURY – His first pass of the game fell incomplete. His third one covered 65 yards and a touchdown and the rout was on.

Chowan quarterback Randall Dixon, coming off a record-setting 399 passing yards last week, enjoyed another solid outing here Saturday as the senior threw for 372 yards and five touchdowns as the Hawks opened their CIAA schedule in fine fashion with a 41-13 win at Livingstone College 41-13.

Dixon’s five touchdown passes ties a school record set by C.J. Westler in 2008 vs. Johnson C. Smith.

With the win, the Hawks improve to 3-1 on the year and begin CIAA play with a 1-0 mark.

The Blue Bears drop to 1-3 on the season and look to recover from a 0-1 start to league action.
