WINDSOR – Connie Marie Williams Askew, 51 of 209 Mizelle Lane, Windsor, died August 31, 2016 at her home. She was born in Hertford County on May 17, 1965 to Richard Charles and Nancy Williams Williams of Colerain.

Survivors in addition to her parents include her husband, Jerry and son Timothy Askew of the home; daughter, Dianne Draper Snyder of Lewiston and step-son Joey Askew of Greenville; sisters, Cynthia Williams of Colerain, Phyllis Howerton (Chris) of Ahoskie, and Josie Joyner (David) of Colerain; two grandchildren, Thomas and Connie Sue Snyder of Lewiston; nieces to include Carol and Jessica Howerton of Ahoskie and Elizabeth Joyner Colerain; and nephews, Christopher Howerton of Ahoskie and David Joyner of Colerain.

Connie was a member of Higher Ground Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ahoskie. She loved singing on the church praise team, playing the piano, sewing, crafts and taking care of her beautiful flowers. Connie loved God, her family, her church family and especially her grandchildren. She was an orthodontist assistant with Doctors Morris & Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Higher Ground Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ahoskie by Pastor Ray Faircloth. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Windsor.

The family will receive friends from the home.
