To the Editor:

We would like to take this time to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and donations at this very difficult time in our lives.

The support from the entire community was awesome. The unconditional love from everyone was truly felt and appreciated by our family.

We do not know how the days ahead are going to be or what they will hold for us, but with God’s strength and love we will make it.

We’re going to take it one second at a time, the same God gives to us.

We thank everyone that attended the march on Main Street on Friday evening, Aug. 12. We thank everyone who was there to share that beautiful time with our family and friends.

We thank everyone from the Hertford County High School staff that helped make this very difficult time in our lives go much easier.

We also thank the New Ahoskie Baptist Church family, Rev. Stackhouse and his First Lady for all their help, support and love.

We thank Hunter’s Funeral Home for an awesome job with the service.

Somehow, we’ve been able to get through this terrible tragedy where the beautiful life of our loved one was ended by senseless violence.

We remember that All Lives Matter!
