RICH SQUARE – Agnes Harrington Jones, age 85, died peacefully on June 18, 2016 at Sentara Meadowview Terrace of Clarksville, VA.

She was born on June 20, 1930 to the late Joseph and Rebecca Harrington in Newport News, VA. She graduated from Rich Square High School. Agnes was married to Willie Lewis Jones and to this marriage was born three girls. She worked for Bank of America and ultimately retired in the late 90’s. Following retirement, she moved back to her home town of Rich Square where she was excited to be back with her sisters, brothers and her church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Johnson Harrington; father, Joseph Harrington, Sr.; husband, Willie Lewis Jones; sisters, Linda Harrington Johnson and Mary Harrington Leggett; and brothers, Joe, Jr., Bobby, Russell and Wade Harrington.

Agnes is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Jones Skinner and her husband Jerry of Greenville, NC, Becci Jones Birdsong and her husband Eddie of Kill Devil Hills, NC and Susan Jones Alexander of South Boston, VA; sister, Carol Harrington Godwin and her husband Larry of Rich Square, NC; and brothers, Gerald Harrington of Falls Church, VA and Ben Harrington and his wife Terry of Clemmons, NC. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Chris Cooper, Ben Cooper, Shaun Lassiter, Brandi Lassiter and Blair Alexander, and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation was held Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Rich Square Baptist Church Fellowship Hall of Rich Square, NC.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Rich Square Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Rogers officiating. The interment followed at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square, NC.
