AULANDER – Ronald L. Thompson, 82, of Aulander North Carolina passed June 2, 2016 peacefully in his sleep at the Hospice House in Greenville, NC.

The family will hold a private service out to sea at a later date.

Ron was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Thompson. He was survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Thompson, and daughter, Amy Scanlan. Other survivors include grandchildren Amanda Scanlan, Abigail Scanlan, Alex Scanlan, Tara Thompson and Alicia Everette; and great grandchildren Jacob and Joseph.

Ron was born in Kelso, Washington; lived in New York, where he and Linda met. They moved to Murfreesboro, NC in 1977 where they both worked at Chowan University for 15 years.
