Post 126 added three more runs in the top of the third and four more in the top of the fourth to lead it 8-0 after four innings.

Windsor struck back in a big way in the bottom of the fifth as Lance Freeman, Wood Trowell and Scoop Hoggard were all hit by pitches to reach base and fill the sacks. Freeman scored on a Brandon Roberson RBI fielder’s choice when Hoggard was forced at second base. Trowell scored on an Alden Cottle RBI single. Daquan Wilson followed by driving in a run. Cottle scored on an error and Wilson scored the final run of the inning on Trenton White’s RBI double. Perquimans saw its lead over the Rebels trimmed to just three runs at 8-5.

Post 126 merely got those three runs back in the top of the sixth to push back to a six-run lead at 11-5 when Windsor failed to answer in their half of the frame.

Perquimans made it an even dozen runs with another marker in the top of the seventh to make it 12-5 after six-and-a-half.

Windsor didn’t roll over. The Rebels rallied in their half of the seventh starting with a walk issued to Roberson and a double into the gap in right centerfield by Cottle to get two runners in scoring position. Both runs scored when White doubled in almost the same spot as Cottle, and White crossed the plate on Miller Trowell’s RBI single to left. The 12-8 score brought the tying run to the on-deck circle, but a double-play would end the game and send the Rebels to their sixth loss in their last seven games.

Wood Trowell, Daniel Castelloe, Ethan Hughson, and Cottle pitched for Post 37 with Trowell taking the loss.

Windsor had seven hits. Cottle led the Rebels with three hits, White had two safeties, and Miller Trowell and Wilson had one hit each.

Windsor is now 5-8 and played in Elizabeth City against Albemarle on Wednesday in a game not complete at press-time. The Rebels next travel to Cary for a single game with the Colts at 6 p.m.
