Worth B. Askew, Jr.

MCLEANSVILLE, NC – Mr. Worth Bagley Askew, Jr. passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Moses Cone Hospital.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Alamance Presbyterian Church.
Worth was a native of Hertford County. He was retired from the N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement Department. He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Greensboro and a member of the Methodist Men; a member of the McLeansville Lions Club; and a retired member of the Retired Peace Officers Association. He graduated in 1960 from Ahoskie High School and was a graduate of Guilford College.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Worth B. Askew, Sr. and Josephine Bryant Askew.
Worth is survived by his wife, Rebecca Phipps Askew of the home; son, Trey Askew and wife Jessie of Raleigh, NC; brother, Joe Askew, Sr. and wife, Martha of Ahoskie, NC; niece, Cheryl Grace and husband, John of Harrellsville, NC; nephew, Joe Askew, Jr. and wife, Megan of Merry Hill, NC; and grandchildren, Zella and Amelia Askew.
