ROXOBEL, NC– Mr. Thomas Lee Parker, age 70, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 31, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Parker was born on February 14, 1946 to the late Thurman Willford and Carleen Baggett Parker of Roxobel, NC. Thomas graduated from Bertie High School in Windsor, NC. He was married to Theresa Early Parker on March 5, 1967 and to this marriage was born three children. He initially worked for Buck Bishop at the Roxobel Pure Station, later working for Mylcraft a number of years and the Exxon Station for L.D. Glover. In 1973 he went to work at Farmer’s Feed and Supply with Billy Ivey, purchasing the hardware store from Billy in 1993. Thomas was a member of the Sandy Run Baptist Church in Roxobel, and served for over fifty years with the Roxobel Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to hunt and fish, and cherished the time he spent with his family.

Thomas is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Theresa E. Parker; two daughters, Lisa Parker Evans and her husband Carroll, and Renee` Parker Baker and her husband Jeff, all of Roxobel; a son, Ray Parker of Halifax, NC; and brother, Raymond Parker and his wife Mary Agnes of Nashville, NC. Also surviving are three granddaughters, Amelia Lee Evans, Leah Nichole Evans and Gracie Elizabeth Baker, all of Roxobel; two grandsons; Wayne Ray Parker, II of Halifax and Lucas Gaston Baker of Roxobel; three great-grandchildren, Johnny, Nichols and London of Halifax; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Rich Square, NC.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery in Roxobel, NC, with Rev. Dr. Dave Rimel, Rev. Doug Spivey and Rev. Bob Rogers officiating.
