RICH SQUARE – “Together from the beginning through the middle and to the end.”

Alton and Sarah were born in Rich Square, North Carolina. Alton was born February 12, 1918 to Babe and Ruby Williams, and Sarah was born March 9, 1918 to Henry and Jennie Mitchell. Sarah entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 25, 2016 and Alton on Saturday, March 26, 2016.

The life and legacy of Alton and Sarah will remain treasured in the hearts of their beloved and devoted children: Leora Robinson (Robert), Alton Williams, Jr. (Bahi), and Peggy Reed (Kenneth) all of Teaneck, New Jersey, Evonne Burgess, and Iola Shaw, both of Hackensack, New Jersey, Agnes Arnold of Whiting, New Jersey, Ennis Theodore Williams of Montclair, New Jersey, and one daughter preceded them in death, Gloria Gaskin. They have thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grand children and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sarah leaves to cherish her memory two siblings, Lindbergh Mitchell and Blanche Haymer.

Celebration of Life for Alton and Sarah will take place at Branches Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Rich Square, NC on Saturday April 2, 2016 at 12 noon. They will lie in state from 11 am until time of service. Viewing and visitation will take place on Friday from 6-8pm at the church.

Their remains rest in the care and comfort of Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations of Hertford, NC; Rev. Darius J. Horton, Funeral Director.
