SOUTH BOSTON, VA – Mr. Donnie Dail Martin of South Boston, VA passed away March 14, 2016. He was born in Como, NC on February 10, 1950 and was 66 years old. He was the son of the late Joseph H. Martin and the late Rachel Harrell Martin. He was also married to Gail Vann Martin who survives.

He was a member of Dan River Baptist Church.

Mr. Donnie Dail Martin is survived by his wife, Gail Vann Martin of South Boston, VA; two sons, Joe Martin and wife Susan of Conway, NC and Ken Martin and wife Lisa of Conway, NC; four grandchildren, Savannah Martin, Hunter Martin, Dustin Martin and Cody Martin, all of Conway, NC; and three sisters, Jean Dilday, Kathy Leonard and husband Floyd, and Gwendolyn Ayers and husband Robert, all of Ahoskie, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph H. and Rachel Harrell Martin; and a sister, JoAnn Vann.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Dan River Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at his home, 2118 Virgie Cole Road, South Boston, VA
