SEVERN – Ann Garriss Woodard, age 84, of Severn, NC, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.

Mrs. Woodard was born August 28, 1931 in Margarettsville, NC, the daughter of the late Roy Garriss and Hazel Glover Garriss.

She was also predeceased by her husband, Calvin S. Woodard Sr. and two brothers, Douglas Garriss and Wayne Garriss.

Mrs. Woodard was an active member of Severn Baptist Church and worked with the Children’s Ministry and was a member of the Women of Faith Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her sons, Calvin S. Woodard Jr., Dennis Woodard and his wife Marty, and Ronnie Woodard and his wife Sharon; three granddaughters, Dr. Danielle Woodard, Callie Woodard and Jeanann Woodard; and her brother, Stanley Garriss and his wife Linda.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Severn Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Corbett officiating. Burial followed in Severn Cemetery.
