Annie B. Runfola

DELTA, AL – On the evening of March 3rd, 2016, Annie “Jenks” Baker Runfola passed away peacefully of natural causes. Annie was being comforted by her son Ronnie Runfola and his family at his home in Delta, Alabama. Annie was 92 years old.

Annie was born in Bertie County, North Carolina on September 12, 1923. She was the only daughter of Edgar Preston Baker and Maude Etheridge Baker.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Runfola; her son, Edgar Irwin Runfola; her brothers, Elton Irwin Baker, Edgar Vernon Baker, James Eston Baker Sr. and Claude Harrell Baker; and her parents, Edgar Preston Baker and Maude Etheridge Baker.

Annie is survived by her sons, Carl James Runfola of Apopka, FL, Vincent Allen Runfola, wife Anita, of Apopka, FL, Ronald Dean Runfola, wife Susie, of Delta, AL, and Robert David Runfola, wife Rhonda, of Wake Forest, NC; sister-in-law, Ann Lewis Baker; and twenty grandchildren.

Annie Runfola was a wonderful loving mother to her five sons. She enjoyed family time cooking and playing card games with her family. She had the nick name “Jenks” growing up with her brothers on the Baker farm.

She was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church where she attended until she moved to Apopka, Florida to live with her eldest son Carl. She then lived with her son Ronnie and his family in Delta, Alabama.

Annie attended Chowan College in the spring of 1964 and was a Teacher’s Aid from 1965 to 1989 for Herford County Schools. She retired from teaching in 1989.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 7, 2016 at Bridgers Funeral Home, 605 W Main Street, Conway, North Carolina from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. A family grave side funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Baker family farm off Highway 158, 134 Sheriff Lane, Ahoskie, North Carolina.
