The March 15 primaries for elections will still take place.
The only primaries not being held Mar. 15 is for US Congress after the three-judge federal panel rejected the Congressional lines as unconstitutional. The US Supreme Court has left that ruling in place by rejecting it for further consideration.
The scheduled primaries at the federal level include the president and senate.
At the state level this primary is for governor, lieutenant governor, NC Attorney General, NC Commissioner of Agriculture, NC Commissioner of Insurance, NC Commissioner of Labor, NC Secretary of State, NC Superintendent of Public Instruction, and NC Treasurer.
Locally, county commissioners, school board members, and county referenda will be decided upon.
In this election, acceptable photo identification is required. Acceptable types of photo ID include: NC driver’s license, DMV-issued ID card, US passport or card, Military ID, or Veteran’s Affairs ID card.
There are exceptions to the ID process. For more information contact your county’s Board of Elections office.
Early voting will be from Thursday, March 3 to Saturday, March 12.
The Bertie County polls will open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. One-stop early voting is at the following locations:
The Bertie County Board of Elections office on Mar. 3-4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Mar. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Mar. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Mar 8-9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Mar. 10-11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Mar. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Powellsville Town Hall on Mar. 10-11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Mar. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Gates County polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. One-stop early voting will be held at two sites: the Gates County Board of Elections office and the St. John A.M.E Zion Church in Sunbury.
Early voting hours are, for the Board of Elections office: Mar. 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Mar. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Mar. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Mar. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Mar. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Mar. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Mar. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Mar. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Early voting hours at St. John A.M.E. Zion are: Mar. 3 from 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Mar. 4 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Mar. 7 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Mar. 8 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Mar. 9 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Mar. 10 from 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Mar. 11 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and Mar. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Hertford County polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Mar. 15.
One-stop early voting will be held at the following locations: Hertford Cooperative Extension Bldg. in Winton; Murfree Center in Murfreesboro; and R.L. Vann School in Ahoskie.
All one-stop locations will be opened during the following times listed: Mar. 3 – 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Mar. 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon; Mar. 7 – 11 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Mar. 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Northampton County polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on March 15.
One-stop early voting will be held at the Northampton Board of Elections office weekdays Mar. 3 -11 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office will be open for early voting on Saturday, Mar. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Mar. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Northampton will open two additional early voting sites: Gaston Elementary School and the Roanoke Center in Rich Square on two Fridays, Mar. 4 & 11, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Those two sites will also be open on two Saturdays: Mar. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Mar. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
