Slippery suspect finally jailed

JACKSON – The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jamie Fennell, 29, of Rich Square on Feb 18 for possession and distribution of cocaine.
Prior to this arrest, Deputy M. Sledge arrested Fennell on Jan. 29 and charged him with one count of felony possession of cocaine, one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, one count of maintaining a vehicle to distribute cocaine, and one count of resisting a public officer.
Fennell fled the scene and warrants were obtained.
Fennell was stopped again in Rich Square on Feb. 13 by Lt. Williams, but he fled the scene once again.
Warrants were obtained once again and he was charged with one count of possession of cocaine, one count of resisting a public officer and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Fennell was arrested when he showed up to court Feb. 18.
He was placed in the Northampton County Detention Center with a $12,700 secured bond.
He had a Feb. 22 court date.
“I would like to commend both Lt. Williams and Deputy M. Sledge for their keen observation on both occasions,” said Northampton Sheriff Jack Smith. “The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is committed to removing all illegal drugs from our community.”
