LASKER – Mr. Joseph Franklin Britton, age 86, of Lasker, NC, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Mr. Britton was born July 27, 1929 in Northampton County, NC, the son of the late Troy Irvin Britton and Vivin Bridgers Britton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alise B. Askew. He was a member of Lasker Baptist Church and a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Blannie Barnes Britton; his son, Keith Britton and his wife Wanda; his daughter, Jean B. Newton; four grandchildren, Jennifer B. Donahoe and her husband Joe, Jonathan Britton, Dustin Newton and Hannah Newton; two great grandchildren, Luke Franklin Donahoe and Rebekah Donahoe; and a niece, Cynthia Askew.

A memorial service was held Monday, February 22, 2016 at Lasker Baptist Church, Lasker, NC, with Rev. Willie McLawhorn officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lasker Baptist Church.
