RICH SQUARE, NC– Mrs. Jean Hoggard Robbins, age 82, of Rich Square, died on February 3, 2016 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Mrs. Robbins was born on April 9, 1933 to the late Scott and Mattie Bazemore Hoggard of Lewiston, NC. Jean worked as a lunch room employee for Northampton County School System for over 35 years. She married the love of her life, Robert Eugene “Gene” Robbins, Jr. in 1952. Jean was a member of Rich Square Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in the nursery for over 40 years. Mrs. Robbins was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Robbins, Jr.; one sister, Lula Mae Hall; and three brothers, Wilma, Edgar and Edward Hoggard.

Left to cherish Jean’s memory are her daughter, Joyce Ann Crabtree and her husband Michael of Oak Island, NC; two sons, Robert “Bobby” Eugene Robbins, III and his wife Terry and William “Tommy” Thomas Robbins and his wife Deneen, all of Rich Square, NC; two sisters, Frances Dunlow of Windsor, NC and Catherine Mizelle and her husband Harold of Winterville, NC; and one brother, Thomas Hoggard and his wife Lois of Lewiston, NC. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Casey Liverman of Rich Square, NC, Robert Robbins, IV of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Kathryn Robbins, Clay Robbins and Cole Robbins all of Rich Square, NC and Leslie Buckner of Greensboro, NC; and six great grandchildren, Lacy and Logan Robbins, both of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Callie and Cailyn Liverman, and Lilly and Ava Buckner of Greensboro, NC.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2 pm at the Rich Square Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Rogers officiating. The burial will follow at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square, NC.
