1980 – 2016

HIGH POINT – Zachary Christopher Priddy, 35, died unexpectedly after a short illness on February 1, 2016 in Raleigh.

Born July 25, 1980, Zach was a 1998 honors graduate of High Point Central High School and earned his Eagle Scout Award that same year. As a scout, Zach had many accomplishments; including participating in a National Jamboree, hiking the super-strenuous trail at Philmont in New Mexico, and attending Florida Sea Base.

Zach attended N.C. State University and was an Outdoor Adventures student leader who led groups on backpacking and biking trips throughout the Southeast. An avid outdoorsman, he competed and participated in various types of outdoor adventure and road races including 5Ks, 10Ks, a marathon, triathlons, and adventure races. Zach’s latest outdoor adventures included his volunteer service as “Coach Dad” for 3-year-old Viviane’s soccer team, the Superhero Cats.

Zach was employed with NYCOM, Inc. since 2004, with increasing levels of responsibility. A proven leader in construction field supervision, Zach’s current service was as Field Operations Manager with oversight of installation projects in five states.

Zach leaves to cherish his memory his wife Jami Johnides Priddy and their three daughters Viviane, 3; Cecelia, 2; and Colette, 3 months. Those surviving also include Zach’s mother, Ginger Brittle Priddy of High Point; father and step-mother Michael and Susanne Priddy of Durham; grandmother Dorothy Wiggs Priddy of Winston-Salem; sister Michelle Priddy Stancil, husband Greg and children Ashlyn, Clark, Kara and Parker of Greensboro; step-sister Hannah Sartelle and daughter Adalyn of Jacksonville; and uncle and aunt Tildon and Becky Brittle of Greenville.

Zach was predeceased by grandparents Matthew Priddy and James and Virginia Brittle.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 4, 6 – 8 p.m. at Cumby Funeral Home in High Point. The funeral will be Friday, Feb. 5, at 12 noon at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in High Point. Burial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7600 ACC Blvd., Raleigh.
