NEW BERN – Brenda Martin Daughtry, 73, of New Bern passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Brenda and her husband enjoyed nearly 50 wonderful years of marriage. She is known for the beautiful life she lived, her God filled example and her amazing positive attitude. She was an inspiration to so many people and will be missed by all who love her.

She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” A. Daughtry of New Bern; daughter, Lisa Daughtry-Weiss and husband, Daniel of Cheverly, MD; grandchildren Sophia and Matthew; brother, Wallace Martin and wife Linda of Wake Forest; niece, Brittany Martin of Flowood, MS; and many other loving family members.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2015 at Garber United Methodist Church in New Bern, NC. Family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be Sunday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Milwaukee Cemetery in Conway, NC.
