Everett W. Bryant

WOODLAND – Everett William “Buddy” Bryant was born on November 12, 1937 on his family farm on the Cutawhiskie Creek near Woodland, NC. He took over the family farm at the age of 12 due to his father’s health. He continued farming until his death.
Buddy passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Buddy married his soulmate and love of his life, Dorice Nell Clark on March 27, 1963. He was a wonderful, loving father to his sons, William and Dan. He was also a loving and caring father figure to many others. Buddy was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Aulander, NC.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ray Bryant; his mother, Maggie Joyner Bryant; his son, Milton Ray; sister, Amorette Bryant Bolton, her husband Joe Bolton; his nephew, Gary Knowles; his mother-in-law Mozell Clark; and brothers-in-law, Mack Clark and Bill Lee.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorice Clark Bryant; his sons, William and Daniel “Dan” Bryant, all of Woodland; his sister, Lillie Ginn (Elmer) of Virginia Beach, VA; his niece, Beth Phillips (LaVerne) of Woodland; his nephew, Jeff Bolton of Wendell, NC; three special great nieces, Ashleigh and Sarah Phillips of Woodland, and Lindsay Bolton of Wendell, NC; six sisters-in-law, Margaret McLamb (Billy) of Dunn, Jane Tyler (Don) of Momeyer, Judy Farrow (Richard) of Conway, Nancy Lee of Deland, FL, Debra Sumner (Calvin) of Woodland, and Annie Bowen (Phil) of Woodland; and four brothers-in-law, C.J. Clark (Pat) of Colerain, Kenneth Clark (Sharon) of Wilmington, Hank Clark (Sharon) of Deep Run, and Herman Clark (Patti) of South Daytona, FL; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lastly his close friends, Shelton Jones and Woo Culpepper, both of Woodland.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10:00 am, one hour prior to the celebration of life service at 11:00 am at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Aulander. The service will be followed with a burial at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Rich Square, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that memorial donations be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 221 Pleasant Grove Road, Aulander, NC 27805.
