Charles A. Britt

MILWAUKEE – Charles Albert Britt, 87, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his home in Milwaukee.

A native of Northampton County, he worked for sixty years as a barber in Conway. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, and “uncle” to many of his family and, especially, enjoyed interacting with all of the family children. He did enjoy walking around town, greeting people and sharing conversation. He was a certified and an active member of the Conway-Severn Rescue Squad, a Master Mason, a charter member of the Milwaukee Lions Club, and a lifelong member of Bethany United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and was Secretary of his Sunday School Class.

Mr. Britt had been preceded in death by parents, Claudie and Bernice Britt; brother, Raymond Britt and Jack Britt; and sisters, Claudie Marie Dixon and Elizabeth Blowe.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Jewel Martin Britt of their home; children, Robbie Bridgers and husband, Steve, of Milwaukee, Bobby Warrick of Milwaukee, and Jennifer Stancell and husband, Fred, of Weldon; five grandchildren, Jessica Warrick Taylor (Mason), Trevor Warrick, Josh Bridgers, and Corrie Harrison and husband. Bill; two great grandchildren, Jules Taylor and Reid Harrison; two brothers, Carl Russell Britt and wife, Peggy, and James Britt and wife, Ethel, of Murfreesboro; and many special nephews and nieces.

A funeral service for Mr. Britt was held on Sunday, November 15 in Bethany United Methodist Church in Milwaukee. Burial followed in the Milwaukee Cemetery.
