JACKSON – Two men from Northampton County are behind bars and one other is sought in a pair of breaking-and-entering cases.
On Nov. 10, the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Parker Godwin Britt, 26, of Conway. His charges are stemming from an incident that occurred on November 5 and 10 in the Conway and Murfreesboro area.
Britt was charged with two counts each of breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen goods, and felony larceny. He was placed in the Northampton County Detention Center with a $ 38,500 secured bond and made his first court appearance on Nov. 12.
Also arrested was Kwame Harris, 26, of Woodland. He was charged with one count each of felony breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen goods, and felony larceny. He was placed in the Northampton County Detention Center with a $30,500 secured bond and also appeared in court on Nov. 12.
Captain M.D. DeLoatch Sr. of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office said a break in the case came when Britt attempted to pawn one of three weapons stolen. The weapon he tried to pawn in Greenville Friday was stolen Thursday, the captain said.
The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Derryel Bell of Woodland. Warrants are on file for Bell for two counts each of felony breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, and felony larceny.
“I would like to thank Detective Sgt. Jenkins and Deputy J. Britt and other members of the Sheriff’s Office for their diligent effort in solving these cases. I also would like to thank the Murfreesboro Police Department, the Chowan University Police, Conway Police, Garysburg Police, Ahoskie Police, and Northampton County EMS station #7 and #4 for their assistance,” said Sheriff Jack Smith.
