ATLANTIC BEACH – Peggy Curley Harrell, 76, of Atlantic Beach, died Saturday, October 3, 2015.  Her funeral was graveside on Wednesday October 7 at Roxobel Kelford Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Marriner officiating.

She was born Feb. 11, 1939, to Fred C. and Nettie H. Curley of Bertie County. She has a son by the name of Ray Overton Harrell Jr. and a daughter by the name of Dr. Karen Lynn Harrell-Tosto. She was known to her family as “grandmother.”

After a rewarding career as a nurse and a special education teacher, she moved to Atlantic Beach, NC to work with Early Childhood Development. With a loving heart to all who ever met her, she became one of God’s precious angels Saturday evening, October 3, 2015 at 10:40 p.m.

She is preceded in death by her two parents and seven siblings.

She is survived by her two children, Ray Harrell Jr. and wife Beverly Harrell of Atlantic Beach, and Dr. Karen Harrell-Tosto of MoreheadCity.  Peggy Harrell or “Grandmother” has eight grandchildren: Brittany Harrell, Tripp Harrell, Brady Tosto, Evan Tosto, Courtney Giblin, Ryan Giblin, Billie Katheryn Giblin, and Kameron Giblin.  Also she has three great-grandchildren: Coen Giblin, Barrett Henry and Rylee Henry.
