Family Fun & Fitness Day

GATESVILLE – It promises to be a day that not only attracts families, friends and youth together from Gates County, but has also evolved into a popular event for those from neighboring counties as well.
The 9th annual Family Fun & Fitness Day will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Gates County Community Center at 130 US Highway 158. This is a free community event for all ages. The goal of the Family Fun and Fitness Day is to foster the GP4H mission: “improving the health and quality of life in our community”.
Highlights for this year include: a variety of family oriented physical activities (line dancing, gospel dancing and Zumba), free health screenings, health promotions and quality of life educational booths, health bingo, injury prevention demonstrations, crafts, food and beverage vendors, Farmers’ Market vendors, bouncy house, face painting for youth, soccer games, tennis tournament and co-ed horseshoe tournament. There will also be an antique car, tractor, and motorcycle show by local VFW Post #7312. Also featured will be a special display “Speedway to Health”, an interactive program by NC A&T State University and sponsored by NC Cooperative Extension Services.
The public is invited to come out and enjoy all the attractions and vendors scheduled to be at Family Fun and Fitness Day.
