WINTON – William Alda Etheridge, Sr. 77, of Winton, NC passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Moyock, NC, he was the son of the late William Grandy and Clara Belle Etheridge. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Geraldine B. (Jerry) Etheridge; and a sister Elsie Davenport.

He is survived by his son, William A. Etheridge, Jr. (Margaret); a daughter, Michelle E. Byers (Dave); four grandchildren, Tyler and Courtney Etheridge, Forrest and Austin Byers; a brother, Donald Etheridge (Barbara); special friends Arline Ferrell and Doug White along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Rd., Chesapeake, VA 23322. Rev. Chuck Moseley will officiate.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
