HARRELLSVILLE – Mrs. Gertrude Wiggins Holloman, age 95, of Harrellsville, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Creekside Care & Rehabilitation of Ahoskie, NC.

Gertrude was born on January 11, 1920 to the late James Curtis Wiggins, Sr. and Genola Burch Wiggins in Hertford County, NC. Gertrude attended Harrellsville High School and graduated valedictorian of her class. She was a homemaker, a farmer’s wife, and a very talented seamstress. Gertrude loved to hunt and fish with her husband.

Mrs. Holloman was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Carlton Franklin Holloman; a sister, Hazel W. Hewitt; and a brother, J.C. Wiggins, Jr.

Gertrude is survived by her brother, William Earl Wiggins and his wife Lucille of Ahoskie, NC; a special sister-in-law, Nellie J. Holloman of Harrellsville, NC, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

A Celebration of Life graveside service was held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC.
