RICH SQUARE – Sarah Emory Askew, age 93 of Rich Square, passed away on February 20, 2015 at the Sunrise Senior Living of Raleigh, NC.

She was born on July 29, 1921 to the late Claude and Rebecca Emory in Stovall, NC. Sarah graduated from Rich Square High School in Rich Square.  She was a member of the Rich Square United Methodist Church. Mrs. Askew was employed by Mylcraft Manufacturing of Rich Square for some twenty plus years.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Preceding her in death other than her mother and father are her sisters, Laura Dickerson and Helen Jessup; and her brothers, Claude, Eugene and Paul Emory.

Sarah is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Edmundson and her husband Bob of Raleigh, NC, and Patsy Askew Brouillard and her husband Les of Raleigh, NC; sister, Polly Hall of Rich Square, NC; two granddaughters, Allison Bradsher and her husband Steve, and Chris Richards and her husband Rick; two grandsons, Robert Edmundson and his wife Anne, and Keith Brouillard and his wife Jennifer, all of Raleigh, NC.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 23, 2015, 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Rich Square, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square, NC with the Rev. Bob Rogers officiating.  The interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square, NC.
