Millon C. Lewis

WINDSOR – Millon Carrell Lewis, 90, of 106 Joyner Street, Windsor, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Three Rivers Nursing Home.
He was born in Johnston County on April 12, 1924 to the late Millon Basco and Jarada Finch Lewis. He is predeceased by his wife, Theresa Mae Phelps Lewis; a grandson, Thomas Carrell Lewis; and thirteen siblings.
He was the owner and operator of Lewis Floor Finishing Service for over sixty years. He was a US Navy World War II veteran. He served in the South Pacific at the landing of Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and Peleliu.
Funeral services will be held Sunday January 4, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel in Windsor by the Rev. Steve Davenport. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday at Walker Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. and from the home of Donna and John Pierce, 331 Hoggard Mill Road, Windsor, at other times.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Harrington, and Donna Pierce (John) of Windsor; sons, Millard Lewis (Alice), Willard Lewis (Wanda) of Windsor, and Ray Lewis (Mike Raines) of Currituck; five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
